7 Video Games That Are Aimed At Girls
It’s actually weird when someone asks you to make a list of video games targeted at girls, as girls these days play all the video games & download games anyway. But girls do have their favorites among the games available in the market and given a choice, these games would definitely be in their games shopping list for this Christmas. We’ve made a list of 7 games that we think will hold more interest for the fairer sex than the rest, and if you’re planning to buy a video game for your girl child, make sure you try out these ones first.
1. The Legend of Zelda (Twilight Princess)
This classic game, which has transformed many times over the years, is still a favorite choice with many pre-teens, teens, and grown-up women, even though it comes with a teen rating. The storyline is the main sell point of this game with a beautiful princess named Zelda as one of the important protagonists going through a fantasy laden voyage of adventure. The absence of head banging violence found in boys-specific games makes this game very appealing to girls.
2. Dance Dance Revolution (Supernova)
Pre-teen girls and kids aged 10 and below will find this classic arcade style dance game a lot of fun. There’s not a single girl in this world that does not like dancing behind closed doors to their favorite music. DDR has got fantastic interactive features that will surely make the girls go gaga while playing the game. The perfect game for a slumber party to play, dance and have a pillow fight in the end.
3. Wii Sports
Who said sports video games are only for the boys? Wii Sports is a game that can be enjoyed by girls equally, especially by girls aged 10 and below. Baseball, bowling, and a lot of other games that interest girls are playable in this game, and this game will surely excite your girl child so much, she’d want to go out in the backyard and try a few swings with the bat.
4. Eragon
This is for teen-aged girls, and contrary to popular belief, it’s not a violence filled game that’ll excite only testosterone overflowing boys. This game is based on the bestselling book with the same name and is a fantasy voyage involving dragons and castles. The battle between good and evil is marked with mild violence but definitely will not scare your daughter with an overdose of mindless violence.
5. Final Fantasy III
Though this game is rated E10, older girls will enjoy playing this game as much as the kids under 10 do. Just like the name suggests, this game is a fantasy filled adventure of 4 orphans who try to rid the planet of all the evil. The best thing about this role playing game is its storyline totally devoid of any violence.
6. High School Musical- Making the Cut
This game will stimulate your pre-teen’s creativity. Based on the popular Disney television show, this game will allow your kids to be part of the script. Your little girl can actually become a participant by writing songs herself. Good, clean fun for your girl child to engage in during the holidays.
7. Boogie
This game, rated E10, is fun for the whole family. Just like any other Wii game, Boogie demands active player participation, and you just can’t sit around in a place to play this game. Boogie can put life into a party and is perhaps the best party game introduced for girls in recent times.
Investing your money in games such as the ones above will ensure that your little girl spends a lot of time creatively than wasting time talking over the telephone. And the money you spend on buying a video game is easily regained though the savings you’ll be making on your telephone bills!
