Valentine’s Day: A Valentines Day Gift?
Well, Valentines Day just went past and you may have been waiting for Valentine’s Day, the movie. After all, what better way to spice up your Valentines Day and ensure that you have a great time with your honey? It seems like the reviews of Valentine’s Day are out, and you will not be quite happy with the prospects of the movie increasing your love life’s zing. It seems the movie critics did not find too much love from Valentine’s Day, the movie. Well it seems as if the movie tries to live up to all the rom-com expectations and you could almost say that it is one big checklist for rom-com tricks in the book. You have the romantic beats, arcs and also tropes that help to have tears jerked and the mush stirred.
With Valentine’s Day you have Julia Roberts (who was onscreen for just 6 minutes), Anne Hathaway, Bradley Cooper to make up a star cast that seems all so impressive. But then it’s just not enough to have a power star cast, when your storyline is quite unimpressive. The star cast can do only so much and not much more, as the only life and lift that a star cast can give is to an acceptable and out of the ordinary script.
