The Amsterdam fashion Week is changing hands this season and this will be the last event that will be held by the previous owners the Pieter de haan. The new event organizers will be the Hans van de Linden of the Brand 2 Event group. It will be held between the 14th of July to the 20th of July 10.
Some of the most prominent names in the international fashion industry will be taking part. This is a celebration of the 6 years of the Dutch fashion industry by the fashion club BRILLIANT. Some of the designers that will be attending and showcasing their designs in this event are Iris van harpen, Hyun-Ven, Spijkers & Spijkers, G Star Raw, NON by Kim, ROPA ROSA, Monique-Colignon, Red-Rail, and many other prominent names form the Dutch fashion industry. The event will also see the participation of a few upcoming Dutch designers in the Fashion Week LAB, that gives fresh and talented designers a chance to present their designs. This time the Fashion Week DOWN TOWN is putting the city of Amsterdam on the international world fashion maps. This fashion event will also have a Business Programme where the participants will be shown how to take the first step and begin their foray into the fashion world.

The Milan Men’s Fashion Show recently took place and saw participation of the best in the men’s fashion industry.
The Alexander-McQueen fashion house showcased its British roots inspired menswear collection. This menswear collection was the first men’s fashion wear after the death of its designer. Giorgio Armani took part in a big way by showcasing an military inspired edgy designs which were referenced to the leather clad Lady gaga look. Making simple things more fashionable was the formula Emporio Armani designers were following. Gianfranco took inspiration from India and China to present relaxed and easy wear linen and silk designer clothing for men. The collection was centered on lightweight shirts, collarless shirts, three piece suits, tuxedo in silk and brimmed hats. This collection was presented in blue to khaki colors and some green. Bottega Veneta tried to change things a bit by showcasing easy fitting suits which had wrinkles and need not be ironed.

The Full Figure Fashion Week is stepping into its second year. It will be organized in Manhattan and will include fashion events such as fashion shows, plus size runway model competition and a panel discussion. The even this year has expanded to include 35 sponsors instead of the 7 last year and will draw a crowd of in excess of 300. The events tickets are completely sold out and is predicted to be a huge success. It will also se the participation of reality star Whitney Thompson from America’s next top model who will be accepting an award and also project Runway contestant Qristyl Frazier.
This annual show is dedicated to real full figured women who are healthy and want to be in-style. It is really sad that this fashion show is separate from the New York Fashion show and the New York Fashion show is lame compare to the full figured fashion week without all the fun events and a vibe that is against life or death.

The second edition of the Carthage Design & Fashion show is going to be held in Tunis, Tunasia from June 15th. The theme of this year’s fashion show is going to be The globalization of fashion leading to standardization.
The international level fashion show will have daily parades of fashion designs from more than 32 foreign designers and design houses and 20 national designers. The event will be held at the historical site of Carthage Acropolium. The event will also have conferences, photography exhibits and fashion apparel events alongside the fashion shows.
This fashion show strengthens the position of Tunis as the fashion capital of Tunisia. This event will see any big designers take part in this one week long event. Names like Yumi Katsura from Japan, Swan from France, Maurizio Calenti from Italy and many more prominent names from the fashion industry will be taking part.

An international jeweler fashion even was recently held with the austere mood of economic recession and debt overshadowing Britain.
This show was held to show case the best of the upcoming designers in the jeweler fashion designing. The event was held at Goldsmith Hall. There were some of the biggest names in the Britain Jewellery industry and many took part to showcase their designs for the year 2010.

The Council of Fashion Designers of America recently held an award show to honor the best of 2009. The CFDA is a non-profit trade association whose purpose is to lead industry initiatives and has more than 350 designers as its members. The CFDA award show is meant to recognize the top creative talents in the fashion industry and support the development of fashion through various scholarships and fashion funds.
The Oscars of the Fashion industry gave away many honors at the recently concluded event with The best Women’s wear designer award going to Marc Jacobs for his Marc’s fall 2010 collection that defines what is wearable and position-able. The best Men’s wear designer of the year award went to Rag & Bone. The accessories of the year award went to Alexis bittar. The famed Swarovski Women’s wear designer award went to Jason Wu and the same men’s wear award went to Richard Chai. The international desingner award was bagged by Christoper Bailey for his Fall 2010 collections. The 2010 fashion icon award was taken home by Iman. There were many other awards that were given to deserving designers one of which was the CFDA board-of-director’s Special Tribute-award that went to Alexander McQueen.

There is a war of a different king going on in the world of actresses. This time its for the simultaneous release of fragrances by Jenifer Lopez and Halle berry together that is drawing the fireworks from both sides. Although Jeniffer Lopez has already released some record setting fragrances, and has sold more than $1 billion worth of fragrances since 2002 with the launch of 6 different fragrances, this year it’s going to be slightly harder than usual with Halle Berry also releasing her third perfume at the same time. The new scent form JLo called Love and Glamour is predicted to get around $150 million in 2010 and the fragrance from Halle berry Reveal is predicted to earn at least $100 million in sales. The perfume from Halle Berry is supposed to be different from the older perfumes since this one is after pregnancy and defines the changed tastes of the actress.
The advertisements are the biggest reason these perfumes sell and they are already out with Halle Berry hiding herself in the dark and Jenifer Lopez looking 20 years younger because of photo shopping. But only time will tell how successful these fragrances will be and if they will give birth to more fragrances from these actresses.
