Of Fashion Revolution and Donna Karan
Donna Karan feels that we need a fashion revolution ad that too, quite fast. We cannot wait forever for such a revolution that should start with our very mindset and then spread to every part of the fashion movement. For instance, if you go to a store to buy bikinis in winter, you just get woolens and sweaters and the shop assistant thinks you are crazy if you ask for sun tan. Donna feels this is not just right and you should be able to get stuff even if you are way ahead of the season. After all, it does not already have to be summer to buy summer clothes. What’s wrong in buying clothes for winter in summer and vice versa?
The problem is that there is a huge mindset issue which feels that just when it starts getting hot you go out and buy bikinis. This mindset does not make any allowances for people who play out well ahead and are able to want to buy stuff much before the season is upon them. After all, there are some well sorted out and meticulous folks out there who can plan well ahead and the market should cater to these people too.
