Karl Lagerfield and his views
Karl Lagerfield is quite clear that he would not open his sunglasses for any interview as he feels it is a gross invasion on his privacy. After all, he views a pair of sunglasses as his ‘burka’ and his privacy is non-negotiable. According to him, he does not ask women interviewers to remove their bra when talking to him, so why should he be asked to give up his sunglasses? He is very candid and forthright about this and brooks on nonsense on such a basic thing. As far as political correctness is concerned, he says that one of the most boring things is when people talk about the charity that they do. It is all very nice tobe philanthropic as long as you do not make a song and a dance about the charity that you do. That is something that is not acceptable in any measure.
As far as sex is concerned Karl Lagerfield feels that he cannot sleep with people he loves. Sex is temporal and does not last, but true affection lasts and hence you would rather not spoil love and affection by something as impermanent as sex. These are rather unconventional thoughts and views of Karl Lagerfield and you would love him for his frankness.
