How HP sells computers to women

There are some companies that have started realizing that how you sell to women needs to be drastically different form the way you sell to women, even if what you are selling is a tech product. Take for instance HP or Hewlett Packard, the famous computer company that has started introducing floral patterned computers notebooks with the brand name Vivienne Tam, which is also so small that women can put it into their purse or handbag. Similarly, the company seems to be increasing its thrust in the field of selling computers to women in a way that is a little embarrassing and over the top. The fact of the matter is that the company will now appear in the backgrounds and also along with characters in Sex and the City. Even Jessica Parker has been signed on to be a spokesperson for the company in its special “PC is Personal Again” campaign.

The company has opened what it calls computer boutiques where it features not only laptops and desktops but also shoes, jewelry and handbags for women. It seems the company wants to go the whole hog in its wooing of women. While all of this may be fine, sometimes it can get a little annoying and pretentious too.
