Fashion Do’s and Don’ts

Not everything about fashion is cool and beautiful. Fashion can be bad and horrible ugly, too. Most designers spend a lot of time and effort on their creations, and while some designs turn out to be fantastic works of fashion art, some can be dismally boring and repulsive. There are quite a few people who strut around wearing terrible designs that are neither in vogue nor in tune with the season or the wearer’s body. It’s very important for one to know the right things to wear at the right times in the right ways if he or she doesn’t want to walk around as fashion disasters. Being fashionable is always cool, but committing fashion blunders is a cardinal sin. Now that the winter is here and temperatures are dropping day by day; let’s look at some fashion DO’s and fashion DONT’s for the season.

DON’Ts

  • Do not go near over sized, bulky coats this winter. They are so out of fashion, but highly recommended if you’re trying to hide your whole body on account of a repulsive skin disease or something.
  • The same goes for Doc Martens, oversize flannels and fishnets, but again, very suitable for people who like being called eccentrics or simply, stupid.
  • No more hanging out this winter with way too short skirts with no panties or topless overalls. Definitely not sexy this winter unless of course you’re working in Vegas or in a seedy bar. Too much flesh is not “in,” anymore, so hold the exposure back.
  • Please don’t experiment with your skintight leopards this winter, and they’re better off in your wardrobe until such time there’s green signal again for them.
  • Don’t go for coats with a lot of fur, animal or otherwise, and it’s not so cool strutting around like a giant fur ball. Give fur a pass, this winter.
  • No high heels on ice and most definitely, no boots and socks.
  • No shape suits, either, unless you have a body that is—well, shapely!
  • Let’s not try ill-fitting jeans this winter because the only thing they’ll ever do this winter is make the onlookers ill.
  • If you’re heading to the warmer beaches down south, don’t try a fancy dress display by wearing too much make-up and jewelry on the beach.

DOs

  • Trench coats are super fine this winter. Red on your trench coats will make the winter hot for people who see you in them.
  • High rubber boats with skinny jeans are cool, this winter.
  • Berets are making a comeback, and wear them with pocket coats, and you’ll sure look like you’re royalty from Northern Europe.
  • Denims are in, but make sure they fit you to a ‘T’.
  • Sandals are fine if you’re indoors at a party, but don’t try them out in the chilly weather.
  • The classic white and blue denim combo is still in style this winter, just like the LBDs.
  • Little black dresses are always the favorite and these ones don’t have a seasonal preference, anyways.
  • Dresses—as colorful as you can get. Only, make sure when you’re outdoors you conceal them under a good parka or a trench coat.

Fashion is fine, but more important is your health. As long as you don’t commit fashion hara-kiri and stick to the basics, you’ll do just fine, this winter. Keep it simple and keep it straight, and remember— fashion is cool as long as it’s clean and uncomplicated. Don’t try extravagant experimentation with fashion, unless you want this winter to be remembered as your fashion disaster season!
