Celebrity Weddings
Today’s fashion gurus are sure to keep up with celebrities. We are anxious to know what they are wearing to any event rather it be a trip to the grocery store or a waltz down the red carpet. Sunglasses, handbags, shoes, jewelry and makeup are all important when it comes to completing any fashion worthy outfit. Just like we want to know about red carpet fashion and simple grocery store attire, we definitely want to know what was worn at the best and most expensive celebrity weddings.
When I think about a wedding, I think about more than vowels and a lovely dress. Weddings are a package and just like any outfit isn’t complete without the accessories, a wedding is not marvelous without Wedding Favors. I have compiled a list of my favorite celebrity weddings. The list consists of the most important areas which make up a wedding. Locations, designer dress, food, and receptions are all included.
Ashlee Simpson & Pete Wentz (An Alice in Wonderland inspired Wedding)
Location: Ashlee’s parents backyard at their California home
Dress: Simpson wore an ivory lace Monique Lhuillier dress and William Noble-designed diamond earrings and matching necklace. Wentz wore a Dior Homme tuxedo.
Food: Guests were served cocktails and appetizers. The drinks were consistent of the theme and were contained in “Drink Me” bottles, and waiters served food on trays resembling giant playing cards.
Reception: A red-and-black tent filled with 10,000 black roses. the bride and groom had their own giant heart-shaped chairs.Teapots and saucers decorated the tables.
Beyonce Knowles & Jay-Z
Location: Spring wedding at Jay-Z’s New York penthouse
Dress: She wore a dress designed by her mother, who also designed some of Destiney’s Child’s outfits. The dress was white with a low V-neck and thick straps.
Food: Before sitting down for a seven-course meal, guests enjoyed caviar, shrimp, and fried chicken appetizers.
Reception: Evening reception held in the living room of the penthouse. More than 70,000 white dendrobium orchids were flown in from Thailand.
Barack and Michelle Obama
Location: Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, Illinois
Dress: The first Lady wore an off-the-shoulder pure white duchess satin gown with a sweetheart neckline. The dress had floral appliques. She also wore a princess-length veil and full-length gloves. Barack wore a black suit with a white rose boutonniere.
Reception: The reception was held at the South Shore Cultural Center in Chicago. Stevie Wonder’s song, “You and I” was Michelle and Obama’s wedding song.
Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt’s
Location: Westminster Presbyterian Church in Pasadena, California
Dress: Heidi’s wedding dress is part of the Monique Lhuillier Spring 2009 line. The dress, “Symphony,” sells for $7,500. It is made of silk organza and has a drop waist with a peacock feather design. The ivory silk chiffon sash sells for $2,500. It has an embroidered design at the center. The yellow bridesmaid dresses are by BCBG.
Food: Fruity margaritas and appetizers such as tuna tartare and chicken salad. The cake was decked out with daffodils and orchids.
Reception: The color scheme was green and yellow at the large reception for all guests immediately after the wedding. They chose to have a small reception just before midnight at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA.
