African Fashion Week
The African Fashion Week 2010 took place recently amid the huge shadow of the Football world cup being held at the same place. But the Fashion week held its own head high and was successful.
The African Fashion show now in its 6th year saw the participation from the top African designers such as Saucho and Heni. The African designers had some very interesting designs on display and left everyone impressed. Some famous international designers took part too who tried to target the African traditional designs for the local population. There were prominent names like Mariane Fassler, Errol Aredz and Abigal Betz. The show was late by an hour or so because of designers not getting their models ready on time. The show say women dressed elaborately and elegantly, while men on the other hand were dressed very little and were barefoot. I guess there is a new trend going on which makes men showing skin the latest fashion. A designer also used little children aged 8-15 in her show. Mariane Fasler raised a few eyebrows with her choice of models as children but it was much better than seeing skimpy and skinny models. The event was held in a proper manner and the planners saw everything run smoothly.
